The Poco M2 has been unveiled by the POCO, recently. It will go on sale on Flipkart on 15th September at 12 Noon. The all-new Poco M2 is the company’s third smartphone offering in India this year. The Redmi 9 Prime is the original inspiration for the Poco M2, just like the Poco M2 Pro that was a rebranded Redmi Note 9. Earlier, the POCO has unveiled the Poco X3NFC on 7th September in the Chinese market in an online event. And, on the next day, the company has unveiled the M2 in the Indian market. This means the company has been deepening its roots in the global market.
Poco M2 – Design
The Poco M2 features a 6.53″ FullHD+ display with 2340 x 1080-pixels resolution, that has a notch up top for the 8 MP front camera and the protection of Gorilla Glass 3. The screen offers the 394 PPI which is pretty ordinary.
Poco M2 – Specs
Talking about the under the hood specs, are that it is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80. It is a 12nm power efficient Octa-Core chip which clocks up to 2.0Ghz. It comprises of 2 x (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75) & 6 x (1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU.
The main highlight of the M2 is that it is offering a huge 6 GB RAM at a budget-friendly price. It’s the cheapest 6 GB RAM smartphone in the world. It would deliver a good performance with the help of the massive RAM. In 2020, this capacity of the RAM is now preferred more by the consumers. The storage variants available are 64 GB and 128 GB mated with the 6 GB memory. The battery capacity is 5,000mAh with 18W fast charging.
On the back, it features the quad-rear camera setup a 13-megapixel primary camera; a second 8-megapixel camera; a third 5-megapixel camera and a fourth 2-megapixel camera. The rear camera setup has auto-focus.
Poco M2 – Features
For connectivity, the handset comes with dual-SIM capability, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, IR blaster, and a USB Type-C port. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and the phone is equipped with a P2i nano-coating that makes the device splash-proof. The phone comes with Android 10 with MIUI for Poco, with MIUI 12 scheduled to arrive in the future.
Pricing and Availability
It will be going on sale on Flipkart.com or you can purchase it from the Flipkart App on the 15th of September at 12 noon. There are two color options, Pitch Black, Slate Blue, and Brick Red color options. Poco M2 will be available in two variants.

The previous Poco smartphone that is, the Poco M2 pro was the Redmi Note 9 rebranded, and the company was heavily criticized from then. But, this smartphone is also a rebranded Redmi phone, which is Redmi 9 Prime.
Poco has set the expectations very high since the launch of Poco F1, their first smartphone. And, the consumers look at the brand with very same expectations, but Poco is hitting its own brand image with this kind of stints.
